18 Days To Go!

Quick update...

We are a few weeks out and I've been getting more intense Braxton Hicks contractions. Not sure how much longer we really have at this point. One thing is for sure - we're ready!

Last Wednesday 3/28 (mid-way through our 36th week) we had an ultrasound done to check his size. According to all the measurements the sonographer guessed he was about 5.5 lbs (with a margin or error of 2 lbs.) - my belly is measuring about a week smaller than average too. During the last month of the final trimester he will gain between a quarter and a half pound per week. So, leaving the Dr. office last week Kevin and I were doing to math to try and guess what little Skelly Jr. could weigh at birth. We went ahead and accounted for the margin of error - knowing Liam was almost 10 lbs!

Our thinking - if he was 7.5 (at most) last Wednesday then he could be 9.25 lbs. at most and 7.25 lbs. on the lighter end. Whatever he ends up weighing is fine and we clearly have no control over it!!!

So, during the ultrasound we learned two things: 1) he has ALOT of hair...the tech could see it flowing off the back of his head and 2) he was upset about something during the exam - he had a frowny face for us to see. Kevin tried to cheer him up, but it was no use :)

Interesting comparison below:

The Little Brother at 36.5 weeks (awake)

Liam's Face At About 30 Weeks (asleep)

This is mama Skelly signing off for now...when we go into labor and then deliver the little guy we will have a calling chain to notify friends and family when this little bundle arrives. Also, since Kevin has every gadget known to man - I am sure he'll be keeping everyone posted via twitter, meow me, bark off, facial encyclopedia and other venues!!!

Love to you all and glory to God for all the many gifts He bestows on us in this life!

All praises and honor to HIM!!!!
